AUSTINTOWN - Dorothy J. Vecchione, 79, passed away peacefully Monday evening, Jan. 4, 2016, at her home with her family by her side.

Dorothy was born July 19, 1936, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth Conners Miller, and was a lifelong area resident.

She was a graduate of East High School and became a homemaker who dedicated her adult life to raising and caring for her family.

Dorothy was a member of St. Joseph Church in Austintown and was a former member of St. Luke Parish, where she was an active volunteer at St. Luke School and at Cardinal Mooney High School during the years her children were in school.

Dorothy enjoyed bowling, and loved playing cards with her family and with her card club. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and attending her children's sporting events.

Mrs. Vecchione leaves her husband of 53 years, Salvatore A. Vecchione; her daughter, Patricia Segarra of Sharon, Pa.; four sons, Sal Vecchione of Warren, Christopher (Lauren) Vecchione of Canfield, Daniel (Samantha) Vecchione of Boardman, and David (Gina) Vecchione of Poland; and 10 grandchildren, Kristen, Emily, and Stephanie Segarra, and Jarrod, Jacob, Gianna, Angelina, Ava, Kristina, and Julia Vecchione.

Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Green and a brother, Paul Miller.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 8, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown.

Funeral services will begin at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, at the funeral home and continue at 10 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 4545 New Road, Austintown.

Committal services will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown.
