Donna L. Trumbetta

GIRARD - Donna L. Trumbetta, 62, passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, Oct. 9, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital following a brief illness, with her family by her side.

Donna was born Dec. 2, 1963, in Youngstown, a daughter of Byron Bigelow Sr. and Sakiko Bigelow, and was a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and dedicated more than 40 years of her life to caring for others as a licensed practical nurse. Donna worked for many years at Briarfield Manor and, more recently, at Aventura at Humility House.

Donna was a member of St. Blaise Parish, St. Joseph Church. She enjoyed visiting the casino, attending concerts, especially performances by Escape, a Journey tribute band, and decorating her home for the holidays. Donna also loved making chocolates and spending time with her family, particularly at family gatherings and celebrations. Known for her strong personality and take-charge attitude, Donna was a natural leader who was never one to follow the crowd. She enjoyed being in charge and doing things her own way, a quality those who knew and loved her will always remember.

Donna leaves to forever cherish her memory her husband, Richard "Rick" Trumbetta, whom she married July 8, 1994; her mother, Sakiko Bigelow of Austintown; her daughter, Dalene (Patrick) Hagerty of Liberty Township; her two sons, Anthony Palestro (Kristy) of Hubbard and Troy Trumbetta of Girard; three grandchildren, Shianne, Naomie and Olivia; three sisters, Debbie (Sam) Franco of Georgia, Clara Swaggerty of Florida and Diana (Dave) McGeary of Boardman; two brothers, Byron (Rhonda) Bigelow Jr. and Ronald Bigelow, both of Austintown; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard Trumbetta Sr. and Marianna Trumbetta of Boardman; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and many dear friends.

Donna was preceded in death by her father, Byron Bigelow Sr., and her daughter, Tiffany Trumbetta.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown.
