BOARDMAN - Donald J. Patek, 77, passed away Friday afternoon, March 22, 2019, at Hampton Woods following a brief illness.

Donald was born May 18, 1941, in Youngstown, a son of the late Stephen and Mary Radovich Patek, and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Patek was member of the first freshman class of Cardinal Mooney High School and graduated from Mooney in 1960. He worked for many years in the produce department at various Kroger stores. More recently, he worked at Family Dollar stores throughout the area.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was of the Catholic faith.

Donald is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Sisters, Helen Barbato and Mary Lou Amatore, and brothers, Robert and John Patek, preceded him in death.

Family and friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, in Youngstown, where a Memorial Service will follow at 7 p.m.

Committal services will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman at a later date.
