Obituary

GIRARD - Donald E. Walker, 84, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 29, 2016, at ValleyCare Northside Medical Center in Youngstown.

Donald, who known to many as "Cook," was born May 20, 1932, in Punxsutawney, Pa., a son of the late Max and Gertrude Long Walker, and came to this area after graduating high school.

Mr. Walker worked at LTV as a roller helper for 32 years, retiring in 1982. After retirement, he worked for a time for Simco Corporation as manager of Hillcrest Trailer Park.

He was a United States Army Veteran, serving in the Korean War. Cook enjoyed spending time in his shed and sitting on his patio. He was a fan of the Cleveland Indians and enjoyed attending Indians' games. He loved to visit restaurants, and waitresses often affectionately called him "Grouchy."

Mr. Walker leaves his wife of 42 years, Janice Murdock Walker, whom he married Jan. 26, 1974; a son, Paul A. Walker; a daughter, Patricia Elaine Estep; six nieces and nephews, Terri Criss, Traci Hill, Christine Hoye, Stephen Nenadic, Valarie Maler, and Nicholas Perkins; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews, Alyssa, Andrew, Daniel, Emily, Ryan, Derek, and Stephen.

Per Don's request there will be no services or calling hours.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 222 S. State St., Girard.
