YOUNGSTOWN - Dolores Tiberio Ray, 74, of the city's west side, passed away Wednesday morning, February 28, 2024, at Beeghly Oaks following an extended illness.
Dolores, who was affectionately known as "Dee" was born August 20, 1949, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late William and Gloria Conti Tiberio and was a lifelong area resident.
After graduating from Chaney High School in 1967, Dolores pursued her passion for cosmetology. She attended Cosmetology School and became a licensed cosmetologist, eventually establishing her own salon which she operated out of her home. Her dedication to her craft and her clients was evident in the relationships she built over the years. Additionally, she furthered her education at Youngstown State University.
Dolores was a member of St. Brendan Church and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, cheering for her team with unwavering enthusiasm. Music brought her comfort and inspiration, and she cherished moments spent with her beloved family.
Dee is survived by her three children, Melissa (Al) Chiaino of Brooklyn, NY, Jeremy Ray of Youngstown and Natalie Ray of Youngstown; four grandchildren, Jeremy, Matthew, Sam and Ben; a great-grandson, Jeremy; her brother, Bill (Annette) Tiberio of Canfield and many extended family members.
Dolores leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of love that will be forever treasured by her family and friends.
A sister, Jeannie Tiberio Edwards, preceded Dolores in death.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a memorial service will be held at 6 p.m.
