FLOWER MOUND, TEXAS - Dolores Cecelia Gabriel, 95, formerly of Youngstown, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

Dolores was born March 16, 1929, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late John J. Sotkovsky and Anna H. Palguta Sotkovsky. She spent her early years in Struthers and lived most of her life in Youngstown before relocating to Texas 10 years ago to be closer to her family.

She was a graduate of Ursuline High School and worked as a payroll administrator for Reliable Source of Metal Work for 20 years.

She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrow Parish, St. Matthias Church. She found joy in arts and crafts and had a passion for researching family history, which kept her connected to her roots and her heritage.

Dolores married Dominic Peter Gabriel on June 10, 1950.

Dolores leaves her daughter, Lisa Ann Marie Gabriel, who will forever cherish her memory and with whom she made her home; her son, Dean Peter Gabriel of Waukegan, IL; and a brother, John J. "Jack" Jr., (Joyce) Sotkovsky of Mentor.

Her sister, Geraldine A. Dugas, preceded her in death on November 30, 2023.

Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024, at St. Matthias Church 915 Cornell St., Youngstown, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
