GIRARD - Dennis K. Mohn, 76, passed away peacefully, Sunday morning, Jan. 15, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family.

Dennis was born March 23, 1940, in Niles, a son of the late Sheldon Zell and Edna Gerthung Mohn, and was a lifelong area resident.

He worked as a security guard at Ohio Security for over 30 years retiring in 2009.

Dennis enjoyed collecting model trains and he greatly enjoyed the time he spent with his family.

Mr. Mohn leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 57 years, Carmelita DeRose, whom he married Nov. 18, 1959; five sons, Dennis (Jennifer) Mohn Jr. of Warren, Ronald Mohn of Girard, Joseph (Linda) Mohn of Cortland, John (Martha) Mohn of Girard, and Frankie Mohn of Girard; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara McCale of Girard; a brother, Larry (Valerie) Mohn of Girard; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, including Julia and Larry Simmons of Florida.

Besides his parents, a sister, Linda Mohn Meade and a brother-in-law, Lloyd Meade, preceded him in death.

Per Dennis'€™ request, there will be no calling hours or services.

Dennis' family would like to thank the staff of Southern Care Hospice of Youngstown for the kindness shown and care given to Dennis and his family while under their care.
