POLAND - Debbie K. Marshall, 72, passed away peacefully Friday morning, July 5, 2024, in the comfort of her home with the love of her family by her side.

Debbie was born February 24, 1952, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late William Cerny and Frances Vukovich Cerny, and was a lifelong Mahoning Valley resident.

Debbie was a proud graduate of Chaney High School, Class of 1970. She dedicated over 20 years of her life to serving the Youngstown City Schools in the food service department before her retirement.

An active member of Wickliffe Presbyterian Church, Debbie was passionate about teaching Sunday School, sharing her faith and love with the younger generation.

Debbie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She found joy in participating in TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly) and had a keen interest in birdwatching. She cherished her beach vacations, splashing in her pool, and most importantly, the precious time spent with her family. Known for her culinary skills, Debbie was also an avid shopper and enjoyed an occasional glass of wine.

Debbie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ray Marshall, whom she married June 8, 1974; her daughter, Melanie (Steve) Duritza of Poland; her grandson, and the apple of her eye, Brandon; a brother, Robert Cerny of Pittsburgh; a sister-in-law, Debbie Cerny of Janesville, Wisconsin; and many extended family members and many friends.

Besides her parents, a brother, William Cerny preceded Debbie in death.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. A celebration of life will follow at Rachel's Restaurant, 54 Westchester Dr., Austintown. Family and friends are welcome to share in the celebration.

Interment will take place at Tod Homestead Cemetery at a later date.
