POLAND — David M. Muransky, 72, passed away Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, at his home.
David was born March 11, 1953, in Youngstown, the son of the late Frank L. Muransky Sr. and Elizabeth Bischoff Muransky, and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a 1971 graduate of Struthers High School and worked for many years as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service. He also was employed by Orlando Baking Company, from where he retired.
Dave was a devoted member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, where he was active in many parish activities, including volunteering with the church’s weekly bingo.
In his leisure time, Dave enjoyed working crossword puzzles, visiting casinos and was a proud MOPAR car enthusiast. Known for his kind and generous spirit, he supported many worthwhile charities and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Dave leaves to forever cherish his memory his brother, Frank S. Muransky of Youngstown; and many beloved nieces and nephews, including Michelle Muransky and her son, Alex; Cheryl (Michael) Kelty and their daughter, Sarah; Michael (Cami) Kirkland and their son, Charlie; Stephanie Kirkland Gibson and her son, Hagan; David (Nycole) Kirkland and their children, Zachary and Caroline; and Matthew (Lauren) Kirkland and their daughter, Kamryn, Tiffany Wallace-Polak and her children, Connor and Catherine, Christina (Goran) Marjanovich, and Aaron Wallace
His wife of 37 years, Karen Wallace Muransky, whom he married Oct. 25, 1986, preceded him in death Feb. 4, 2024.
In addition to his wife and parents, Dave was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Kirkland.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, and from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown,
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026, at the funeral home and will continue with a Divine Liturgy at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, 356 S. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown.
Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery, where Dave will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Karen.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church in Dave’s memory.
