Daniel Lane McKenney

CANFIELD – Daniel Lane McKenney, 68, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, Aug. 18, 2026, in the comfort of his home with his family by his side.

Daniel was born March 21, 1958, in Youngstown, a son of the late David McKenney Sr. and Carol Thomas McKenney, and was a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1977 graduate of Poland Seminary High School and had a 45-year career as a machinist, working for PIC, EDC and IES.

Daniel attended Western Reserve United Methodist Church. He enjoyed music, working on cars and baseball, and spent many years coaching Little League. Above all, Daniel cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He leaves to forever cherish his memory his wife of 44 years, Joy Maurice McKenney, whom he married Nov. 28, 1981; two sons, Samuel (Tricia) McKenney of Solon and Joshua (Heather) McKenney of Twinsburg; five grandchildren, Aaron, Madeline, Olivia, Hudson and Nolan; his brother, Derek (Kim) McKenney of Canfield; and many extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his brother, David McKenney.

Family and friends may gather to pay respects from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown, where a memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m.
