BOARDMAN - Daniel S. Collins, 23, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, March 6, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, following a courageous battle with diabetes and its complications.

Daniel was born Dec. 10, 1992, a son of Cheryl Skelly Collins. He was a lifelong resident of Boardman and was a graduate of Boardman High School.

Danny, affectionately known as "Dan the Man," enjoyed music, computers, video games, books, shopping, and gadgets. He especially loved spending time with his family.

He will always be remembered as a giving and loving person who was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

He leaves his mother, Cheryl Collins, with whom he made his home; his father, David Collins of Poland; brothers, Scott Austalosh of Austintown, and Damon Collins, Daron Collins, and Marcus Collins, each of Boardman, and Joe; sisters, Michelle (Frank) Vennetti of Austintown, Rhonda (Phil) Bowser of Austintown, Tracia Collins of Youngstown, Cecilia Collins of Akron, Kiah Collins of Boardman, and Kacilya Walker; his grandmother, Rose Skelly of Austintown; his nieces and nephews, Adriana, Elizabeth, and Gianna Vennetti, Sophia Austalosh, Alana Bowser, Frankie Vennetti Jr., Anthony Vennetti, and Phillip Bowser; many extended family members; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Louis W. Skelly.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, March 10, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown.

Funeral services will begin at 11:15 a.m., Friday, March 11, at the funeral home, and will continue with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at noon at St. Christine Church on South Schenley Avenue in Youngstown.

Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Boardman.
