YOUNGSTOWN — Dale J. Pritchard, 55, passed away Monday afternoon, Aug. 10, 2026, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Dale was born Dec. 5, 1970, in Selma, Alabama, a son of William A. Pritchard Jr. and Susan Greene Pritchard.
He was a 1990 graduate of Chaney High School and developed a love for racing at a young age, beginning with dirt bikes. Dale was incredibly gifted when it came to cars and enjoyed building motors for the vehicles he drag raced. After an injury in which he broke both heels forced him to retire from racing, he continued to put his mechanical skills to good use.
Dale loved to tinker and was exceptionally handy, with an ability to build or fix almost anything. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson and, true to his nature, built and customized the motorcycle to his liking. Even throughout his battle with cancer, Dale remained determined to work on projects and returned to his love of racing by building a race truck for the drag strip. Later in life, he discovered a new passion for cutting grass and purchased a zero-turn mower, which he rebuilt himself. He also loved music and enjoyed listening to a wide variety of genres.
Dale leaves to forever cherish his memory his mother, Susan Pritchard (Kevin Seguin) of Salem; his sister, Lori Pritchard, with whom he shared his home; his niece, Haley Pritchard; his nephew, Brayden Williams; his great-niece, Harper Pritchard; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and dear friends.
Dale was preceded in death by his father, William A. Pritchard Jr.
Family and friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a funeral service will take place at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Dale’s family suggests memorial contributions be made to the family.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Patriot Hospice, the Cleveland Clinic and Dr. Graham for the compassionate care, kindness and support shown to Dale and his family throughout his illness.
