CORTLAND - D. Diane Gold, 76, passed away Friday December 1, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Diane was born August 21, 1947, in Somerset, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Virl Kooser and Jean Kifer Kooser and came to the Girard area in 1965 after she married her high school sweetheart, Jay Gilbert.

She was a 1965 graduate of Somerset High School and worked as the office manager at Rubenstein and Associates. Diane also worked as an assistant for Corydon Palmer Dental Society until she retired in 2017.

Diane enjoyed traveling, attending concerts, visiting the casino and going to various purse bingo events held throughout the area. Most of all, Diane enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory her two daughters, Lisa (Rich) Conklin of Howland and Jackie (Jeff) Cowles of Mineral Ridge; seven grandchildren, Jonathan (Erica) Gilbert, Tyler Cowles, Zackery Conklin, Nicholas Conklin, Brock Cowles, Riley Cowles and Delaney Cowles; five great grandchildren, Xavier, Kiley, Hunter and Lucy Gilbert and Norah Cowles; her brother, John (Linda) Kooser of Hermitage and many nieces and nephews.

Diane was preceded in death by her  husband, William "Billy" Gold III, her first husband and father of her children, Jay Gilbert and a sister, Debra O'Brien.

Per Diane's request there are no calling hours.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Girard.
