CANFIELD - Christine M. Philibin, 54, passed away at her home of natural causes.
Christine was born April 11, 1962, in Youngstown, a daughter of Joseph S. and Gloria Havas Rinko, and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a 1980 graduate of Canfield High School and was involved in the Peace Corps during high school, as well as the Civil Air Patrol.
She worked for her family's restaurant business, The Periscoop on Mahoning Avenue in Youngstown, and subsequently worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Moody; in security with St. Joseph Health Center in Warren; and for Youngstown State University as a police dispatcher, a position she retired from on disability several years ago.
Christine was a member of St. Charles Church in Boardman.
She enjoyed bingo, shopping, travel, giving to her family, and her "fur baby," Sophia. Christine will always be remembered as a kind-hearted person who cared for others.
Christine leaves her son, Patrick D. Philibin of Boardman; her father and his fiancé, Joe Rinko and Sharon Edwards of Austintown; two brothers, Frank M. (Patricia) Rinko of Austintown and Joseph R. (Julie) Rinko of Salem; a sister, Jean M. (Jason) Zets of Austintown; her companion, Donald Dixey of Struthers; several nieces and nephews; and a great-niece.
Her mother passed away in 2008.
Private family services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 20.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown.
