YOUNGSTOWN - Cecilia Ann Metzger, 83, of the city's west side, passed away unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, June 29, 2024, at her daughter's home.

Born on March 20, 1941, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Cecilia was the daughter of the late Merrill Rutledge and Rose DeFrancesco Rutledge. She moved to the Youngstown area as a young lady, where she would build a life filled with love and dedication.

Cecilia graduated from South High School and dedicated 40 years of her life to working at Magnetic Analysis in Boardman. Throughout her career, she raised and cared for her family with unwavering love and commitment.

In her leisure time, Cecilia enjoyed crocheting afghans and was an avid fan of "Days of Our Lives" and "Lawrence Welk." Her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and guidance.

Cecilia is survived by her four children, Debbie (Rich) Jovanovich of Punta Gorda, FL., James Metzger of Youngstown, Chris (Maria) Metzger of Tucson, AZ., and Julie (Glenn) Taylor of Punta Gorda, FL., and Salem, OH; 14 grandchildren, Kevin (Bethany) Jovanovich, Eric Jovanovich, Francesca Metzger, James Metzger III, Erica (Josh) Brewton, Jordan Metzger, Amanda Metzger, Kayla O'Malley, Madison (Alex) Hatfield, Dori (Dylan) O'Malley, Garrett (Taylor) Taylor, Francisco Medina, Mariah Medina and Nathan Median; seven great-grandchildren, Ashtyn Metzger, Dominic Khoury "Littleman", Jaxon Brewton, Elena Brewton, Meyer Jovanovich, Grayson Taylor and Weston Taylor.

Cecilia's unexpected passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her legacy of love, faith, and family will continue to inspire and uplift those she left behind. She will be deeply missed.

Family and friends may call from 3 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a funeral service will take place at 4 p.m.
