YOUNGSTOWN — Carol J. Davis, 89, formerly of Overlook Avenue, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026, at Omni Manor following a lengthy battle with dementia.

Carol was born April 15, 1937, in Marion, Ohio, a daughter of the late Robert and Louise McQuiston Ruble, and was a lifelong area resident.

She was a 1956 graduate of The Rayen School and worked for GF Fireproofing before beginning a career at St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she worked as a ward clerk and in recovery for more than 30 years until her retirement. Throughout her working years, Carol remained devoted to raising and caring for her family.

Carol enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and ceramics. Above all, she treasured family gatherings and the time she spent with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed being surrounded by those she loved and the many memories they created together throughout the years.

Carol leaves to forever cherish her memory her children, Daniel (Jayne) Davis of Orlando, Fla., Theresa (Rex) Moyer of Poland, Mary Ann (Mark) Miller of Austintown and Christien (George) Kurak of Boardman; five grandchildren, Mandy (Andrew) Fitch, Tara (Chad) Akins, RJ (Katie) Moyer, Katie (Troy) Mazur and Victoria Davis; five great-grandchildren, Bryce, Miller, Amelia, Scarlett and Madilyn; and many extended family members and dear friends.

Carol will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her husband of 65 years, Robert “Bob” Davis, whom she married Sept. 19, 1958, died Sept. 7, 2023.

A son, Robert Davis Jr., died Nov. 18, 2011. A sister, Shirley Miller, also preceded Carol in death.

A private celebration of Carol’s life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown.

Carol’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of Brookdale Assisted Living, Omni Manor and Akeso Hospice for the kindness shown and compassionate care given to Carol and her family.

Carol’s family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer Network, 4214 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512, in her memory.
