YOUNGSTOWN - Carl J. Pedaline, 94, passed away early Wednesday evening, March 30, 2016, at Hospice House.

Carl was born on the city's east side, and graduated from East High School. He was a WWII Army veteran and worked at a heating and roofing company as a partner with his father-in-law, Joe Hubert. He retired at the age of 80 after serving as a heating inspector for the City of Youngstown for 23 years.

He married his high school sweetheart, the former Madelyn Hubert, in 1944. Carl and his wife celebrated their 72nd Anniversary on March 11, 2016.

A member of St. Christine Church, Carl volunteered at St. Elizabeth Hospital for many years. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Council No. 3144, and was a member of VFW Post, No. 8841, where he held the position of treasurer for many years, up until the time of his death. Carl was a member of the Sheet Metal Union for 43 years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three children, Janet (Mike) Murray, Patti (Steve) Gondol, and Joe (Suzanne Murphy) Pedaline; seven grandchildren, Michelle (Kurt) Purcell, Jen (Tim) Darney, Jeremy (Mandi) Gondol, Steven Carl (Marisa Vilardo) Gondol, Jonathan (Nicole Thomas) Gondol, Jody Pedaline, and Amy (Lamont) Brown; and nine great-grandchildren, Corey and Maddie Purcell, Nathan and Ava Darney, Vincent and Linden Gondol, Maya and Miles Brown, and Connor Gondol.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, April 3, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.

Funeral services will begin at 10:15 a.m., Monday, April 4, at the funeral home, and continue with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Christine Church in Youngstown, with military services to follow.

Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.

In lieu of flowers, Mr. Pedaline's family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice House, through Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.
