GIRARD - Blagoy L. "Bob" Callow, 75, passed away Monday evening, June 2, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospital following a brief illness, with his family by his side.

Bob was born Dec. 18, 1949, in Niles, a son of the late Leon and Katie Desovich Callow and was a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1968 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and held several jobs throughout his life, including working at U.S. Steel McDonald Works and Isaly's Dairy. Most recently, Bob worked as a corrections officer with the Trumbull Correctional Institution (TCI) for 15 years before retiring in 2010.

Bob was a member of St. George Croatian Lodge 66, Niles McKinley Lodge No. 794 of Free and Accepted Masons, and the Catholic War Veterans John J. Buckley Post 1292. He enjoyed traveling—especially his trip to Australia to visit family—as well as hunting and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Lapushansky Callow, whom he married June 9, 2012; four brothers, Carl Callow of Niles, Eugene (Vicki) Callow of Warren, Joseph (Beverly) Callow of Cleveland, and Veliko (Karen) Callow of Girard; his aunt, Anne Szekely of Southington; many nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; extended family members in Australia; and countless friends.

In addition to his parents, Bob  was preceded in death by his first wife, Gail A. Hoffman Callow; three brothers, Earl, Cyril and Mitchell Callow;  and a sister, Kalina Braun.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.

An additional calling hour will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, followed by a Masonic service at 11:30 a.m.

Interment will follow at Niles Union Cemetery.
