YOUNGSTOWN — Beverly Jean Rockwell, 92, of Youngstown’s west side, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, Aug. 30, 2026, at Omni Manor.
Beverly was born Feb. 9, 1934, in East Millsboro, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Frank F. and Eva Vance Lancaster, and came to the Youngstown area in 1967 from Denbo, Pennsylvania.
She worked at Kirkmere Cleaners for 23 years and was a longtime, active member of the former Youngstown Church of God on Lanterman Road. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she enjoyed attending services and participating in church activities. Beverly also enjoyed sewing and, above all, treasured the time she spent with her family. She especially enjoyed the many generations of her family and the memories they created together throughout the years.
Beverly leaves to forever cherish her memory her five children, Rose (Dale) Kerr of Warren, Deborah (Lee) Myers of Youngstown, Bruce (Carole) Rockwell of Youngstown, James (Donna Lou) Rockwell of Youngstown and Donna Jean (Curtis Hayes) Bucklew of Youngstown; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Della R. Beatty; and many extended family members.
Her first husband, George A. Rockwell, whom she married Aug. 1, 1949, died July 16, 1988. Her second husband, Alvin N. Rockwell, whom she married in December 1988, died March 15, 1998.
Beverly was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Ann Kendall; a son, Rev. George Rockwell; a great-granddaughter, Brittany Marie Kendall; two sisters, Jenny Marshall and Hanna Wortman; and a brother, Thomas Lancaster.
Family and friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a funeral service will be held at 5 p.m.
Private interment will take place at Tod Homestead Cemetery in Youngstown.
