YOUNGSTOWN — Betty A. Snovak, 97, of Youngstown's west side, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Briarfield Manor.
Betty was born Jan. 23, 1929, in Lowellville, a daughter of the late Ursa and Maude (Rodgers) Whitacre, and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a graduate of East High School and dedicated her life to raising and caring for her family.
Betty was a member of the former St. Brendan Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed crafting, but most of all, she treasured spending time with her family.
Betty leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Cindy (Edward) Ihnat of Youngstown; three grandchildren, Chadd (Heather) Ihnat of Meadville, Sarah (Kevin) Darby of Boardman and William Allison (Eddie Sanchez) of Boardman; her great-granddaughter, Evelyn Ihnat; Heather's children, Dylan, Austin and Jaylin; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Her husband of 52 years, Frank J. Snovak, whom she married June 4, 1949, died June 18, 2001. Her daughter, Laurie Allison; and nine siblings also preceded Betty in death.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2026, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a memorial service will take place a 3 p.m.
Private interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown, where Betty will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
