GIRARD - Beatrice M. Sheesley, 96, passed away Tuesday evening, April 24, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.

Beatrice was born Oct. 13, 1921, in Porters Falls, W.Va., a daughter of the late Bert and Emma Miller Ruble, and came to the Youngstown area in the late 1940s.

Mrs. Sheesley worked in housekeeping at Youngstown's Northside Hospital. She also operated the former West Side Drive-in Movie concession stand for 30 years, and worked for a short time at Noday's.

She loved her family, and especially enjoyed the time she spent with them. Beatrice also enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and sitting on her front porch, eating a hotdog from Jib Jab (no other hotdog would do).

Her husband of nearly 56 years, Joseph D. Sheesley, whom she married Sept. 1, 1951, passed away Aug. 2, 2007.

Mrs. Sheesley leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Joseph (Sandra) Sheesley Jr. of Mooresville, N.C. and Michael (Judy) Sheesley of Girard; two daughters, Georgia Joeleen (Bud) Walker of Girard and Michealeen (Chuck) Wilson of Cameron; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.

Besides her husband, two sons, Garry and Bert David Nolan; two brothers, Gene and Bill Ruble; and a sister, Evelyn Gainor, preceded Beatrice in death.

Family and friends may call from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 27, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 222 S. State St., Girard, where funeral services will take place at 1:30 p.m.

Committal services will follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Austintown, where Beatrice will be laid to rest next to her husband.

In lieu of flowers, Beatrice's family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Rd., Poland, Ohio 44514.
