Barbara A. Reardon

AUSTINTOWN — Barbara “Barb” Ann Reardon, 89, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2026, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Barb was born Feb. 17, 1937, on the South Side of Youngstown, a daughter of Myron and Miriam (Sheetz) Wardle.

Barb loved her Catholic upbringing and cherished her years at Ursuline High School, from which she graduated in 1955.

In 1956, Barb married the love of her life, Donald “Duke” Reardon, with whom she shared six children. After her children entered school, Barb went to work for Green Haines Sgambati, where she was employed as a legal secretary for more than 20 years.

Barb loved the simple things in life, including weekly coffee gatherings with her nieces, Denise Caizzo, Maureen Reardon and Eileen O’Brien; her sisters-in-law, Janie Reardon and Rosemary Reardon; and time spent with her high school friends at “Club.”

Anyone who knew Barb knew she also enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Indians. Those who knew her best knew she would only stay in the room if they were winning.

After Duke’s passing, Barb traveled with her children and grandchildren, from the beaches of Florida to the coast of California. Although she enjoyed traveling, she did not have to go far to find joy in her family. From childhood through her final year, Barb vacationed yearly at Geneva-on-the-Lake, where she played cards, watched the sunset and spent time with her family. This tradition is still being carried on by her children and grandchildren.

Barb leaves behind her six children, Brian Reardon, Patrick (Melody) Reardon, Ted (Paula) Reardon, Maureen (John) Kollar, Colleen (John) Hradisky, and Katie (Bob) Appleby; 13 grandchildren, Caitlin (Roan), Danielle, Emily, Nick (Katy), Mack (Abby), Matt (Haley), Renae, Alyssa, David (Thayna), Kiki, Jack, Gracie and Emma; and two great-grandchildren, Noah and Lorenzo. She also leaves her sister, Judy Liggett; her sisters-in-law, Barb Wardle and Norma Italiano; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Barb was preceded in death by her brothers, Dick, Kenny and Ted.

The family extends special thanks to Tommy Warg of Akeso Home Hospice and Barb’s friend and caregiver, Angie Mass. The family is also grateful for the consistent visits from family and friends during the final years of her life, and to dear friends, including Rose Belosic, Peggy Daniels, Mary Ann Abel and Carol Burich — some of whom have passed — who made Barb’s life especially meaningful.

Family and friends may gather to pay respects from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown. Prayers will be offered at 11:30 at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at noon at St. Blaise Parish, Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4490 Norquest Blvd., Austintown.
