IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara A.
Mccullough
September 9, 1939 – October 26, 2024
AUSTINTOWN – Barbara A. McCullough, 85, formerly of Warren, passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 26, 2024, at Briarfield at Ashley Circle.
Barbara was born September 9, 1939, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Robert Adams and Stella McLaughlin Adams. Barbara spent her life in the Mahoning Valley, where she was a beloved friend, family member, and community presence.
Barbara was a dedicated worker who held many roles while raising her family, most notably working at K-Mart in Austintown for over 25 years until her retirement in the early 1980s. She was active and social throughout her life, finding joy in connecting with friends and family over games of Bingo and assembling intricate jigsaw puzzles. In her younger years, Barbara was an enthusiastic bowler and card player, a proud member of several leagues and clubs.
Known for her creativity and kindness, Barbara had a passion for crocheting and made countless lap afghans, scarves, and hats. She generously donated her handcrafted items to the American Cancer Society and nursing home residents, where her warmth and humor made her a cherished member of the community — so much so that she was affectionately known for "running" the nursing home.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Debra L. (Dwight) Foor of Lordstown; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Catheline and Gloria Allen both of Youngstown; two brothers, Richard Adams of Lake Milton and Robert Adams of Florida; her son-in-law, Frank Egley of Lordstown; and many extended family members and countless friends.
Her husband of 48 years, John R. McCullough whom she married March 3, 1956, died December 21, 2004.
A son, John R. McCulllough Jr., a daughter, Charlene Egley, a sister Doris Allen and two brothers, Earl and Howard Adams also preceded Barbara in death.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Barbara's love, warmth, and humor will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Youngstown.
