AUSTINTOWN - Barbara V. Hiester, 83, formerly of East Webb Road, passed away Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at Meridian Arms Living Center following an extended illness.

Barbara was born Feb. 20, 1932, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Wilbur P. and Lois Kurtz Kneubehl, and was a lifelong area resident.

She worked many and various jobs throughout her working life, including jobs at Youngstown Painting & Glass, Lowery Organ, and Burlington Coat Factory, and she worked in the investing and insurance sales fields.

She also played and taught the organ and piano, which she enjoyed very much, and her last position was at Barnes & Noble.

Barb was very active in the Republican Party, was a local precinct committeewoman, and she attended two U.S. Presidential inaugurations.

Barbara leaves several cousins throughout the country. A son, Brad Hiester, is deceased.

Private committal services will take place at a future date at Four Mile Run Cemetery in Austintown.
