Barbara M. Berndt

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP - Barbara M. Berndt, 97, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 31, 2026.

Barbara was born May 5, 1929, in Berlin, Germany, a daughter of Louise Zels, and later made her way to Youngstown by way of Canada, arriving in the area around 1950.

Above all, Barbara dedicated her life to raising and caring for her children. She also worked for many years at Animal Charity, where she found great fulfillment in caring for animals, reflecting her lifelong compassion and love for them.

Barbara is survived by her two sons, Cary and Jeffrey; her three daughters, Carolyn, Jennifer and Karen; and many family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

In addition to her mother, Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter, Jacqueline.

Sadly, Barbara had been incapacitated for several years prior to her passing. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and cared for her.

Private services were held Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Kinnick Funeral Home in Girard. Barbara was laid to rest at Belmont Park Cemetery in Liberty Township.
