YOUNGSTOWN - Augustus "Pinzie" Williams Jr., departed this life on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at his home.

Augustus, who was  affectionately known as "Pinzie",  was born June 23, 1950 in Struthers, to Augustus Roland Williams, Sr. and Myra Radcliffe. In his early years he lived with his father and paternal grandparents, Harry Williams and Ardenia Williams. He attended local elementary school and later special education school in Columbus. Later in his life he returned to adult education programs to pursue a GED and increase his basic education skills.

Despite challenges, Pinzie participated in a number of work programs to include the Easter Seals and most recently Second Phase Inc. He worked throughout his life and was employed at McDonald's, and a  number of other companies, including Gia Russa, from where he retired in 2018.

Pinzie was a gentle, warm and caring person who loved the simple things in life. He had a helping spirit. He loved to watch sports, especially football and his favorite team was the Pittsburgh Steelers. Another joy for him was watching old movies, especially old Westerns. His absolute favorite old TV show was "Matlock"-starring Andy Griffith.

He loved going to and seeing new places and was blessed to travel to Walt Disney World, Las Vegas, Niagara Falls, Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia and a Caribbean Cruise to name a few. He relished periodic trips to the Mountaineer Casino.

He was active in church and was a long time member of  Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. Where he served as an Usher and was a part of the Men's Ministry.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his father, Augustus Roland Williams, Sr.; his Mother in "LUV", Gertie Houston Williams; an aunt, Katherine "Kitty" Williams,  and a host of cousins. Devoted cousins including, Loronica Suber, Gabriel Suber, Darvis Suber and Timmy Williams. Also, close friends, his "bonus" family, Phyllis Cizmar, Kenny Carmichael, Michael Crespo, Ronnie Hart, and Paul Peyatt.

Pinzie is predeceased by his mother, Myra Radcliffe, paternal grandparents,  Harry Williams and Ardenia Williams, grandparents, Bernard and Margaret Houston; and devoted cousins, Minister Pete and Lois Suber and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
