GIRARD – Arlene L. Chismark, 75, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital following a brief illness.

Arlene was born September 18, 1948, in Spangler, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Norman Fronk and Martha Lydic and lived in the area for most of her life.

She attended East High School and dedicated her adult life to raising and caring for her family.

Arlene enjoyed bowling and won many trophies at various bowling tournaments throughout her lifetime. She was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and her hobbies included playing bingo and listening to the many wonderful tunes sung by Elvis. Arlene also enjoyed traveling with her son, Tod on cruises and visiting her cottage at Pymatuning Lake. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Arlene is survived by her husband of 58 years, David Chismark Sr., whom she married August 14, 1965; her two sons, Michael Chismark of Warren and David (Christina) Chismark Jr., of Little Rock, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Janessa (Nick) Rhoades of Cortland, Michael Chismark Jr., of Struthers and Mckayla Chismark of Cortland; her brother, Elmer Lydic of Youngstown; her sisters, Norma (Rick) Goodhart of Boardman, Nancy Keeling of Austintown and Elsa Pesa of Struthers; her chihuahua Tammy and many extended family members.

Arlene will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Besides her parents, a son, Tod Chismark and a brother, Joey Fronk preceded Arlene in death.

Arlene's family would like to extend a very special thank you to the nurses and staff of Guardian Healthcare Center in Liberty township for the compassionate care given to Arlene during her stay there.

Per Arlene's request there are no calling hours or services.
