Ann Margaret Sitnick, 94, passed away Monday evening, March 21, 2016, at Sunrise Senior Living in Poland, and is now enjoying Easter in Heaven with her loved ones who have passed away before her.
Ann, who was known to many as "Marge," was born Jan. 16, 1922, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Michael and Katherine Sydor Tych, and was a lifelong area resident.
Marge was a graduate of South High School, and was a homemaker who worked for Weatherbee Coats during World War II and shortly thereafter, and she worked for Kessler Products for 25 years.
Marge was a member of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church in Youngstown, where she was a member of its St. Anne Guild. Mrs. Sitnick had been a previous member of St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church in Austintown.
She enjoyed cooking and baking, arts & crafts, especially flower arranging, and she loved vacationing in Siesta Keys, Florida and in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Her beloved husband of 67 years, Walter Sitnick, whom she married March 19, 1944, passed away July 31, 2011.
Marge leaves her son, Walter M. Sitnick of Dayton; her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Robert Butcherine of Poland; her granddaughter, Margaret Sitnick (fiancé Caleb Smay) of Dayton, her step-grandson, Chad Butcherine of Niles, and her step-great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Gabriel, and Donnavan Butcherine, all who affectionately called her "Bubba."
Besides her husband, three brothers, Harry Tych Sr., John Tych Sr., and Michael Tych Jr., and a sister, Helen Brozman, preceded her in death.
Family and friends may gather from 11:30 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, March 29, at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, where a funeral service will take place at noon.
Committal services will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, where Ann will be laid to rest next to her husband.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 North Meridian Road, Youngstown.
Marge's family thanks Dr. Sumira Koirala and nurse Lisa Burbik, as well as the wonderful staff of Sunrise Senior Living and the good people with Crossroads Hospice, for the kindness shown and care given to Mrs. Sitnick and her family.
