NORTH JACKSON - Ann Dukish Gergel, 95, formerly of Kroeck Avenue in Austintown, passed away peacefully late Wednesday evening, Sept. 5, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, after a long and fulfilling life.

Ann was born April 18, 1923, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Andy and Mary Dulik Tomaskovic, and was a lifelong area resident.

Ann attended Chaney High School, and was a homemaker who also worked for the Moyers Pants Factory, Weatherbee Coats, and for Kmart in Austintown.

She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Holy Name of Jesus Church in Youngstown, and belonged to the church's senior citizens group and its Altar & Rosary Society. Ann also was a member of the Sam Camen Center, the Jednota, and the Slovak Catholic Sokols.

Ann leaves a son, Robert A. Dukish of Canfield; a sister, Frances Gerish of Struthers; and many nieces and nephews.

Ann's first husband, Michael Dukish, whom she married Nov. 25, 1943, passed away June 20, 1971. Her second husband, Charles Gergel, whom she married July 26, 1975, passed away Dec. 13, 1993. Besides her husbands, a daughter, Rita Marie Zidian; a son, Michael Dukish; a granddaughter, Michelle Cronin; five brothers, Marty John, Joseph, and Raymond Thomas, and Robert "Snake" Tomaskovic; and two sisters, Helen Zelinka and Mary Sudetic, are deceased.

Family and friends may gather from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.

Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home, and will continue at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 613 N. Lakeview Ave., Youngstown, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
