Obituary

AUSTINTOWN - Ann "Annie" Borovitcky, 93, passed away peacefully early Saturday afternoon, Sept. 12, 2015, at Victoria House Assisted Living in Austintown.

Ann was born March 7, 1922, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Charles and Anna Terlesky Senchesak, and was a lifelong area resident.

Mrs. Borovitcky was a graduate of Chaney High School and was a 1945 graduate of the Youngstown School of Nursing. Ann worked for the former Northside and Southside Hospitals, retiring from Northside Hospital in 1986.

Annie was a lifelong member of Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Youngstown and was a strong Christian, devoted to her faith. She was also a member of the Youngstown Hospital Association Alumni and of the Retired Nurses Interest Group.

She loved listening to music, and watching sports on television with her husband. Annie was an excellent cook and baker, and her kolachi had a legendary reputation among her family and friends. She also loved talking on the phone, and her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

Ann will be remembered as a kind and gentle woman who spent her lifetime caring for others and sharing her talents and gifts with those she knew and loved. She was always willing to lend a hand to those in need, and she will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Ann's beloved husband of 58 years, Peter "Pete" Borovitcky, who she married Nov. 26, 1950, passed away Sept. 9, 2009.

Mrs. Borovitcky leaves two sons, Peter A. (Bonnie Strickland) Borovitcky of Austintown and Gary (Debbie Toska) Borovitcky of Dayton; three grandchildren, Tricia (Ryan) McCabe, Peter A. Borovitcky II, and Philip A. Borovitcky, each of Austintown; five great-grandchildren, Abbey, Nolan, Preston, Brycen, and Ashlyn McCabe; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, three brothers, John, Michael, and Metro Senchesak, and a sister, Mary Zets, are deceased.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., WEDNESDAY, Sept. 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a prayer service will take place at 6:30 p.m.

Funeral services will begin on THURSDAY (9/16) at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home, and continue at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

Interment will follow at the parish cemetery, where Ann will be laid to rest next to her husband.

Annie's family thank the staff at Victoria House Assisted Living for the kindness shown and exceptional care given to her during her stay.
