GIRARD - Anita Fuentes, 86, passed away from heart complications, Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at
The Cleveland Clinic, surrounded by her family.
Anita was born Feb. 9, 1930, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Joseph and Pastora Rosende Casal, and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a graduate of East High School and worked alongside her husband, who owned King Cleaners in Youngstown for over 35 years.
Mrs. Fuentes was a member of St. Edward Parish in Youngstown.
She was a long-time supporter of the Veteran's Administration.
Anita leaves her husband of 59 years, Tony Fuentes, whom she married Jan. 26, 1957; three daughters, Cynthia Fuentes of Boardman, Pamela Shelby (fiancé David Engler) of Girard, and Debra (Robert) Hagan of Austintown; six grandchildren, T.J. (Shelby) Parker of Austintown, Jennifer (Bryant) Wilson of Champion, Nina Gabrelcik of Austintown, Madison Shelby of Girard, Cammille Hagan of Austintown, and Christina Stoddard of New Castle; a great-grandchild, Kenley Parker of Austintown; and four sisters, Solina Cora, Adela Malie, Cel Ciarnello, and Violet Rosenberg.
Anita's passion was her children and grandchildren, who adored her immensely.
A daughter, Paula Stoddard; a son-in-law, Paul Shelby; a grandchild, Michael Stoddard; a brother, Joseph Casal; and a sister, Louisa Costarella, preceded Anita in death.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m., today, Sunday, Sept. 25, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 222 S. State St., Girard, where funeral services will take place at 5 p.m.
