William Pallo Obituary

AUSTINTOWN - William G. Pallo, 77, passed away early Monday morning, April 23, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center with his family by his side.

William was born June 21, 1940, in Youngstown, a son of the late John and Susan Matey Pallo, and was a 1958 graduate of Chaney High School, where he played varsity football.

From 1960 until 1971, he owned and operated Sportsman’s Trading Post on Four Mile Run Road in Austintown. Bill then began a career as a car salesman, working for Baglier Ford and Eastwood Chrysler-Plymouth, and he was a manager and salesman with Jim Pace Pontiac in Niles. He also owned and operated Wickliffe Roundup Auto Sales in Austintown. He retired in 2014 from Greenwood Chevrolet, where he passionately worked as a salesman for over 30 years. Known as “Bear” to his friends and colleagues, Bill was a top salesman for many years, winning numerous awards.

Bill was a true Christian and was a lifelong member of  St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Youngstown, and he was also a member of Grace Lutheran Church for a period of time. He emulated Jesus by his kind, loving, and caring spirit, qualities that he passed on to family, friends, and customers. He was a member of Argus Lodge No. 545, F&A Masons, and the Al Koran Shrine.

Mr. Pallo collected Indian relics and artifacts, and true to his love of cars, enjoyed racing cars as a young man and going to car shows. Bill also enjoyed hunting, especially going on hunting trips with his brother, nephews, and friends, and he liked baseball games and NASCAR racing. Time spent with his family was treasured, and he loved “family fun” days and watching football games with his family. He also enjoyed watching his daughters ride horses and loved his cow, Walter John.

Bill will always be remembered as a caring and thoughtful person who looked out not only for his family and friends, but also his customers. He will be truly and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bill leaves his loving wife of 46 years, Cindy Walters Pallo, whom he married March 11, 1972; two daughters, Gina (Patrick) Blascak of Youngstown and Lindsey (Michael) Yost of Poland; a grandson, Patrick William Blascak; a granddaughter, Madelyn Marie Yost “coming soon;” his mother-in-law, Virginia Walters of Austintown; a brother-in-law, Nick (Denise) Walters of North Jackson; a sister-in-law, Olga Pallo of Berlin Center; several nieces and nephews; and his loyal companions, Brady (his best friend), and Kody.

A brother, Robert Pallo, is deceased.

Family and friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 27, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1429 Mahoning Avenue, Youngstown, where funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m.
