BOARDMAN – Theresa M. Testa, 84, passed away unexpectedly at her home Thursday morning, Sept. 13, 2018.
Theresa was born Oct. 24, 1933, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Cartone Rulli, and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a graduate of East High School and in her younger years worked for her father at Rulli Brothers Market. She and her family were members of the former Immaculate Conception Church in Youngstown for many years, where she volunteered as a CCD teacher.
Mrs. Testa was a current member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Boardman and of its Ladies Guild.
Theresa worked elections in her Boardman precinct for 30 years. She loved to bake, especially cookies, and baked for the Democratic Party during elections many years ago. Theresa also enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, and babysitting for other families in the neighborhood. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her family.
Her husband of 54 years, Carl P. Testa, whom she married July 2, 1955, passed away Oct. 22, 2009.
Mrs. Testa leaves to cherish her memory five daughters, Debora (Herman) Stein of Vienna, Carla Sunderlin of Boardman, Regina (Dave) Blike of Canal Fulton, Mary Jo Testa of Boardman, and Donna (William) Kinnick of Twinsburg; five sons, Carl (Chyanne) Testa of Austintown, Joseph (Amanda) Testa of Boardman, Michael (Angela) Testa of Boardman, Anthony (Jennifer) Testa of Charlotte, N.C., and Thomas Testa of Boardman; 14 grandchildren, Lisa Stein (fiancé Matthew Brom), Melissa Sunderlin, Allison Sunderlin (fiancé Zachary Bromley), Joseph, Julian, Lily, Jonah, Anthony, Julia, Thomas, Santino, Sophia, and Lorenzo Testa, and Ashlee (Gerrick) Timm; a sister, Josephine Testa; a brother, Rocco (Dorothy) Rulli; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Theresa will be truly and sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Besides her husband, a son, baby Joey Testa; a sister, Frances Dohar; sisters-in-law, Josephine Guerrieri, Mary Ann Testa, and Sue Testa; and brothers-in-law, Louis, Richard, Robert, and Eugene Testa, and John Dohar, preceded Theresa in death.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 17, at Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N. Meridian Rd. Youngstown.
Family and friends may also gather from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 18, at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 7345 Westview Dr., Boardman, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
Private committal services will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, where Theresa will be laid to rest next to her husband.
