Steven C. Ross

YOUNGSTOWN – Steven C. Ross, 60, of Connecticut Avenue, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018, at his home. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Steven was born June 21, 1958, in Youngstown, the son of the late Herbert C. and Anna Mae Dorosky Ross, and lived in this area most of his life.

Steve graduated in 1977 from The Rayen School and proudly served in the U.S. Navy. Steve also graduated from the New Castle School of Trades as an electrician

He worked at Youngstown Steel Door, and then for the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company in California. He also lived in Florida for four years, returning to Youngstown in 1988.

Steve was baptized in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Youngstown, and was currently a practicing Catholic. He was a member of several local veterans organizations, and he enjoyed watching NFL football games, especially the San Francisco 49ers. Steve loved the outdoors, and enjoyed fishing, camping, and motorcycle riding with friends.

He leaves two daughters, Miranda (Scott) Leedy of Girard and Marie (George) Brdek of Austintown; four grandchildren, Alexis and Aerica Leedy, and Adam and Brooke Brdek; two brothers, Marc (Donna) Ross of Austintown and Herbert C. Jr. (Kathryn) Ross of Walla Walla, Wash.; a sister, Elizabeth Blankenship of Gentry, Ark.; several nieces and nephews; and his former wife and friend, Virginia “Gail” Morris of Austintown.

Besides his parents, a brother, Christopher Ross, is deceased.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, July 15, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. with Rev. Kevin Peters officiating.
