AUSTINTOWN – Sriprai Landgraver, 72, passed away Monday evening, Oct. 15, 2018, at St Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital after a long illness, surrounded by her family.
Sriprai was born in Nong Bua, Saraburi, Thailand on Feb. 5, 1946, a daughter of Nang and Kam Pan Prosri.
Sriprai was the beloved wife of Barry Landgraver, whom she married Jan. 28, 1992, in Denver, Colorado.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her brother, Tong Bai (Kong) Prosri of Thailand; brothers-in-law, John (Rainell) Landgraver of Angola, Ind., Charles (Martha) Landgraver of Ammon, Idaho, and Michael Landgraver of Austintown; many nieces and nephews, both here and abroad; and she will be sadly missed by her cats, Gabby and Tong “Gold.” Sriprai also leaves behind many friends, neighbors, and acquaintances at all the places she lived.
Sriprai was proud of her Thai heritage and was enormously honored to receive her U.S. Certificate of Naturalization on Dec. 17, 1992. Her employment career was in food, hotel, and housing services for the armed services at U-Tapao Royal Thai Navy Airfield, Korat Royal Thai Air Force Base, Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Charleston Air Force Base in South Carolina, and F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Sriprai was a Service Employee International Union (SEIU) retiree.
She enjoyed playing the lottery, visiting casinos, dancing, gardening, sharing exotic dishes with friends, and traveling across America and Thailand. She treasured her many years with the ladies of the Wedgewood Friendship Bowling League.
All are welcome to attend a Celebration of Sriprai’s life which will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 19, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
