DUBLIN, OH - Rose Mary Pitzo, 79, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, Aug. 26, 2017, at Kobacker House in Columbus after fighting a courageous battle with ALS.

Rose Mary was born Feb. 3, 1938, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Fedorchak, and lived in this area almost her entire life before moving to Dublin to be with her daughter in November of 2015.

She was a graduate of Hubbard High School and graduated with honors from Youngstown State University with an Associate Degree in Accounting. Rose Mary worked with various organizations and small businesses throughout her career as an accountant.

Mrs. Pitzo was a member of St. Michael Orthodox Church in Youngstown and was a longtime participant and core leader for Community Bible Study. She was also a longtime member of the Holborn Herb Growers Guild. Rose Mary loved travel, gardening, cooking, spending time with her family, and she enjoyed spending time in Boardman Park.

Rose Mary’s husband of 53 years, John Pitzo, whom she married Aug. 29, 1959, passed away May 6, 2013.

Mrs. Pitzo leaves her daughter, Deborah A. Pitzo; two brothers, James Fedorchak and Joseph Fedorchak; a sister, Charlotte (Rev. Peter) Staviski; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown, where funeral services will take place at 11 a.m.

Committal services will follow at Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown, where Rose Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband.

Mrs. Pitzo’s family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boardman Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road, Boardman, OH  44512, ATTN: Dan Slagle; or to the ALS Association of Northern Ohio, 6155 Rockside Road, Independence, OH 44131, in Rose Mary’s name.
