AUSTINTOWN - Robert T. Testa, 85, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 10, 2017, at Meridian Arms Living Center, following an extended illness.

Robert was born Feb. 26, 1932, in Youngstown, a son of the late Michael and Florence DiCanio Testa, and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Testa was a deputy with the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Department, serving for 20 years during the 1970s, 80s, and 90s.

He enjoyed music, long walks, and he was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Bob loved spending time with his family and friends and he will always be remembered for his sense of humor, especially when he affectionately referred to his family members as “Buccola.”

Bob was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church in Youngstown.

He leaves two daughters, Mary Ann Testa of Austintown and April (Gary) Halt of Boardman; his former wife and longtime friend, Judy Testa of Austintown; a brother, Eugene (Josephine) Testa of Poland; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Three brothers, Louis, Richard, and Carl Testa, and two sisters, Mary Ann Testa and Josephine Guerrieri, are deceased.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, May 14, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.

Funeral services will begin at 9:15 a.m., Monday, at the funeral home, and will continue at 10 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Christine Church on South Schenley Avenue in Youngstown. 

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
