Rita H. Bertolini

BOARDMAN - Rita H. Bertolini, 88, formerly of Youngstown’s west side, passed away Saturday morning, July 22, 2017, at Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman.

Rita was born Aug. 28, 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pa., a daughter of the late Charles and Eva Cooper Fowler. She graduated high school in Pennsylvania, and came to the Youngstown area in her early 20s.

Mrs. Bertolini was a homemaker and also worked for J.C. Penney, retiring in 1993.

She was a member of St. Brendan Church in Youngstown. Rita enjoyed bowling and bowled in the St. Brendan Bowling League. She loved to play bingo, and she truly loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Rita’s husband, Ralph D. Bertolini, whom she married April 9, 1949, passed away Sept. 5, 2002.

Rita leaves her son, Ralph, Jr.; four daughters, Cheryl, Linda, Deborah (Jay), and Renee; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Lou; and two brothers, Tom and Regis.

Besides her husband, a brother, Billy, and a sister, Gertrude, are deceased.

Family and friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Services will continue at 11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Brendan Church, 2800 Oakwood Ave., Youngstown.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, where Rita will be laid to rest next to her husband.

In lieu of flowers, Rita’s family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.
