AUSTINTOWN - Phyllis M. Lombel, 66, passed away early Sunday morning, April 28, 2019, at The Woodlands at AustinWoods after an extended illness.
Phyllis was born Nov. 26, 1952, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Frank and Stella Pruszkowski, and was a lifelong area resident.
Phyllis was a 1971 graduate of Ursuline High School and graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor of science degree in education. She was a devoted elementary teacher in the Austintown school system from 1976 to 1981, when she retired on disability.
Phyllis leaves her daughter, Bonnie Lombel of Austintown; her son, Matthew Lombel of Cincinnati; three grandchildren, Allysia, Austin, and Marcus Lombel; a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Peggy Pruszkowski of Arlington, Va.; a sister, Colleen Solinger of Austintown; several nieces and nephews; and her dog, Brody.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, Ronald M. Lombel, who passed away April 14, 2019.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 2, at the funeral home, and will continue at 11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Norquest Boulevard in Austintown.
Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown, where Phyllis will be laid to rest next to her beloved, Ron.
