BOARDMAN - Michael D. Naples, 67, passed away early Thursday evening, Jan. 24, 2019, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Michael was born Aug. 3, 1951, in Youngstown, a son of the late Sam and Mary Naples, and he lived his life in this area.
He was a 1969 graduate of Fitch High School and worked for 20 years in maintenance at the Salem Golf Club.
Mike enjoyed crossword puzzles, movies, and tinkering. He also enjoyed cars, and was a big fan of the Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers, and of The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Mr. Naples leaves his son, Mick Naples of Youngstown; his daughter, Samantha Naples of Youngstown; and his former wife of 30 years, Patricia Naples of Cleveland.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a brief Celebration of Life Service which will take place at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 2, at Sovereign Grace Chapel, 2012 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown. All attending are encouraged to wear Ohio sports team-related apparel to honor Mike’s love of Ohio sports.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Naples’ name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through www.stjude.org on the “ways to give” page.
