YOUNGSTOWN - Margaret C. Koval, 90, of the city’s west side, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, June 13, 2018, at The Woodlands at AustinWoods in Austintown.
Margaret, who was known to all as “Marge,” was born June 16, 1927, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Andrew and Agnes Shramko Smith, and was lifelong area resident.
She was a graduate of Chaney High School and was a homemaker who dedicated her adult life to raising and caring for her family.
Mrs. Koval was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Holy Name of Jesus Church in Youngstown. She enjoyed reading, going to casinos, and spending time with her family.
Her husband of 60 years, Michael R. “Coogie” Koval, whom she married June 26, 1947, passed away Feb. 13, 2008.
Marge leaves five children, Louise (Bill) Spencer of Austintown, Michael A. Koval of Youngstown, Kathy (Mike) Hyland of Austintown, Andy (Sue) Koval of Youngstown, and Ken (Lisa) Koval of North Jackson; a sister, Agnes Sauer of Austintown; a daughter-in-law, Judy Koval of Woodbury, Tenn.; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, a son, Jimmy Koval; a daughter, Rosey Reigelman; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Sauer, are deceased
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, June 17, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
Funeral services will begin on Monday, June 18, at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home, and will continue at 10 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 613 Lakeview Ave., Youngstown.
Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown, where Marge will be laid to rest next to her husband.
