YOUNGSTOWN – Marco A. Nolfi, 49, of the city’s west side, passed away Monday, Aug. 27, 2018, at his home following a long-time struggle with diabetes.
Marco was born May 13, 1969, in Youngstown, a son of Armando and Bernadette Knapic Nolfi, and lived most of his life in this area. He spent several years living in Las Vegas and in California.
Marco was a graduate of Holy Name of Jesus Elementary School in Youngstown, and was a 1987 graduate of Chaney High School. Marco had also attended Youngstown State University.
He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Holy Name of Jesus Church in Youngstown.
Marco enjoyed MotoCross and Grand Prix racing, and was good enough to almost have been drafted into the “circuit,” but for him, the team had to be with Honda or he wouldn’t join. He enjoyed his computer, traveling, and the “art of speed and freedom.” Marco also had a special knack of making people smile, especially if they were feeling down. A talented cook, his culinary secrets were always “top-gun tasty” and leaned on the best of Italian and Asian cuisine.
Marco leaves his loving and dedicated mother, Bernadette Nolfi of Youngstown; his godfather, Bill Kopko; his beloved canine Akita companions; and many special friends.
Marco’s father passed away in 1995.
Family and friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a memorial service will take place at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, due to Marco’s untimely passing, his family asks that memorial contributions be made in Marco’s name to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
