SPRINGFIELD - Lillian Klus, 96, formerly of Austintown, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, April 9, 2019, at Springfield Regional Medical Center with her family by her side.
Lillian was born Jan. 31, 1923 in Pleasant City, Ohio, a daughter of the late Michael and Anna Negry Barrick, and moved to Warren with her family as a child. She spent most of her life in this area, moving to Austintown in 1960, and later relocating to Springfield in 2001 to be closer to her daughter.
A family woman all of her life, Mrs. Klus enjoyed being a homemaker and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all who affectionately called her “Baba.”
Lillian was a member of St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church in Austintown.
Lillian is survived by her daughter, Sue (Kevin) Creager of Springfield; three grandchildren, Colin (Kate) Creager of Columbia Station, Alex (Hannah) Creager of Williamsburg, Va., and Laura (Greg) Stewart of Gahanna; and three great-grandchildren, Colette, Emily, and Alanna.
Her husband, John Klus; four brothers, Michael, Al, George, and Joseph Barrick; and three sisters, Mary Barrick, Melena Shuttic, and Ann Shuttic, all preceded her in death.
Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, April 12, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where funeral services will take place at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown, where Lillian will be laid to rest next to her husband.
