YOUNGSTOWN – Judy Marie Yatsco, 70, passed away unexpectedly late Monday afternoon, Nov. 12, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, after suffering a stroke at her home.
Judy was born March 21, 1948, in Youngstown, a daughter of Quentin and Victoria LaGuardia Matts, and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a 1966 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Youngstown State University. Mrs. Yatsco worked as a teacher’s aide at St. Joseph School in Austintown for 10 years, and she truly enjoyed working with and helping young children.
She loved to read and her favorite place to visit was a public library. Judy was a big fan of the New York Yankees and enjoyed watching their games on TV. She also enjoyed reality shows, and watching The Food Network and soap operas
Judy was a member of St. Christine Church in Youngstown.
Blessed with a can-do spirit, Judy enjoyed taking care of her family and home. She was very proud of her children and family, and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Judy leaves her husband of 48 years, Edward Yatsco; two sons, Thomas E. Yatsco of Washington D.C. and Michael A. (Sonal) Yatsco of Canfield; her mother, Victoria Matts of Boardman; a brother-in-law, James (Cathy) Yatsco of Charleston, S.C.; and a sister-in-law, Eileen (John) Pannunzio of Youngstown.
Her father, Quentin, is deceased.
Family and friends may call from noon to 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, at St. Christine Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m.
Interment will follow the church service and will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd. Youngstown.
