ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. - John Mikovich, 66, passed away March 19, 2018, in Florida.
John was born Oct. 12, 1951, in Youngstown, a son of John J. and Doris M. Napolitan Mikovich.
He was a 1969 graduate of Chaney High School, and while still in school in 1966, started his five-piece band called “Nomadz.” A talented musician, John played at various clubs throughout the area with his band, and later played in a band called “Synergy.” John was also a good mechanic and owned and operated his own service station in the 1970s.
Even though he lived in Florida for the past 15 years, John remained an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians.
John leaves to cherish his memory his father, John; a daughter, Jennifer Mikovich of Canfield; a son, Christopher Mikovich of Michigan; a grandson, Carter Mikovich; two sisters, Shirley (Fred) Merlo of Austintown and Donna (Mike) O’Neil of Virginia; and four brothers, Gary Mikovich of Florida, Mark (Debi) Mikovich of Florida; Joel (Kristen) Mikovich of North Carolina, and Alan (Michele) Mikovich of Austintown.
John’s mother, Doris, passed away June 5, 2017.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life service which will take place at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 19, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
