GIRARD - Jeffry D. Pitts, 67, passed away at his home Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Jeffry was born Aug. 2, 1951, in Youngstown, the youngest son of the late Patrick and Emma Moffo Pitts, and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a graduate of Liberty High School and attended Youngstown State University. Jeff was currently self-employed by Pitts & Company Painting.
Jeff was very well-versed in government issues and politics, and he could always engage in a friendly debate about the state of the country. Playing the guitar and enjoying music were just two of his other favorite pastimes.
If you were fortunate enough to have known Jeff, you would know he was a very unique individual. He was a hardworking, determined man with a very compassionate heart.
He is survived by his brother, Dominic DiNiro of Cardington; an aunt, Dorothy (Mitchell) Moffo-Rushwin of Liberty Township; his girlfriend and confidante of 11 years, Lee Ann Claflin of Niles; four nephews, Marcus Pitts of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Noah Pitts, Nicholas Pitts, and John Pitts, each of Youngstown; and cousins, Leonard (Diane) Pitts of Liberty Township and Judith Pelletier of Youngstown.
Besides his parents, a brother, John Pitts, preceded Jeffry in death.
Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 28, at St. Rose Church, 48 E. Main St., Girard, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow at Belmont Park Cemetery in Liberty Township.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 222 S. State St., in Girard.
