Jeffrey J. Rota

AUSTINTOWN - Jeffrey J. Rota, 58, passed away early Sunday morning, April 28, 2019, at his home after a brief battle with lung cancer.
 
Jeffrey was born Sept. 12, 1960, in Cleveland, a son of Joseph and Betty Cohol Rota, and moved to McDonald as a child with his family, where he was raised.

Jeff attended McDonald High School and was a 1978 graduate Trumbull County Technical Center, certified as an engine tech. He worked for Rota and Antolini Trucking as a mechanic, then for various companies in the gas and oil industry. Most recently, Jeff worked for Greenwood Chevrolet in Austintown.
 
Mr. Rota was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, where he sang in the church choir, and he was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Jeff served as a youth group leader at both churches, and was a Sunday school teacher and served on the church council.

Jeff was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and the Detroit Red Wings, and he enjoyed NASCAR and Dale Earnhart. He enjoyed singing, and in addition to singing in the church choir, he sang with the Stambaugh Chorus and with the Warren Civic Chorus.

He leaves his wife of 32 years, Diane M. Vanden Bosch, whom he married in September of 1986; his daughter, Corrie Burgess of Jacksonville, Fla.; his son, Drake Rota of Akron; and his mother, Betty Rota of McDonald.
 
Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, June 1, at Grace Lutheran Church, 162 S. Raccoon Rd., Austintown, where a Memorial Service will take place at noon. All are invited to attend a luncheon following the service, to be held at the church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.

In lieu of flowers, Mr. Rota’s family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Grace Lutheran Memorial Fund, in care of the church.
