YOUNGSTOWN – Jason Wayne “J-Money” Rowbotham, 40, of the city’s west side, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Oct. 26, 2018, at his home.
Jason was born Dec. 4, 1977, in Youngstown, a son of Peggy Smallridge Porter, and he was raised by his mother and stepfather, James “Kraut” Porter.
Jason was a 1996 graduate of Fitch High School. He worked for TP Tools in Canfield for the past 12 years, where he was a foreman and plant manager.
Jason cherished his family, adored his children, and he loved his dogs. He enjoyed grilling, and was fondly known as “grillmaster Jay.” He was also very proud of his meticulously-detailed “Caddy,” and was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Jason leaves his fiancé and best friend, Mirria Crouch, with whom he shared his home; his daughters, 10-year-old Rebecca Benton and four-year-old Alexandria Rowbotham, both at home; his mother, Peggy “Nutzie” Porter of Youngstown; a sister, Erika (Frank) Belcik of Austintown, and their son, Nicholas; a brother, David Rowbotham (fiancé Jessica) of Youngstown, and their children, Brandon, Brianna, Trevor, Gavin, and Vanessa; many, many friends; and his dogs, Tazz, Lil Ben, Bolt, Bella, and Ellie.
Jason’s stepfather is deceased.
Family and friends may call from 4:30 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where funeral services will take place at 6:30 p.m.
Due to Jason’s untimely passing, memorial contributions may be made to Jason’s family for the benefit of his children.
