AUSTINTOWN – Jane M. Moss, 57, passed away peacefully late Sunday evening, March 24, 2019, at Oasis Care Center in Youngstown with family by her side.
Jane, who was known to all as “Janie,” was born Jan. 28, 1962, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Thomas E. Sr. and Mary Jane McMahan Moss.
Janie worked an interesting job as a nuclear submarine painter for General Dynamics in Groton, Conn., where she lived for 12 years. She later moved to Seattle, where she worked for the United States Postal Service for 10 years as a mail handler. Janie ended up retiring on disability and returning to Austintown shortly thereafter.
Janie enjoyed spending time with her family, frequenting casinos, and playing keno.
She leaves her sister, Cynthia M. Moss of Austintown; her brother, Thomas E. Jr. (Lori) Moss of Austintown; three nieces and a nephew, Amanda, Jenny, Megan, and Robert; five great-nephews, Jaylen, Joshua, Jaxson, Anthony, and Lucas; and her good friend, Tim Yambar of Youngstown.
Jane’s father passed away in 2015, and her mother passed away March 13, 2019. A sister, Kelly Johnston, also passed away in 2015.
Per Jane’s wishes, there are no calling hours or services.
Arrangements were entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
Jane’s family thanks the staff of Oasis Health Care, and the staff of Crossroads Hospice, for the kindness shown and care given to Janie and her family during her illness.
