POLAND - James George “Jim” Pipoly, 64, formerly of Boardman, passed away early Sunday morning, Sept. 16, 2018.
Jim was born April 15, 1954, in Youngstown, a son of the late James Edward and Sophie Tofil Pipoly. He graduated from Boardman High School and was a graduate of Youngstown State University.
He was the former owner of Reed Builders Supply in Campbell, which he took over from his father upon the senior’s retirement. He took over ownership of Boardman Supply Co. in Boardman, upon the retirement of his uncle, the late Steve Pipoly of Poland.
A member of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Boardman, Jim was an avid golfer and he often played at Tippecanoe Country Club where his parents were members. He was a member of the golf team for both Boardman High School and YSU. In May 1971, he won a local golf tournament at Tippecanoe and earned the privilege of caddying for the late Arnold Palmer. As an adult, he enjoyed waterskiing, riding snowmobiles and swimming, and was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Browns.
Jim is survived by three sons, James Edward (Laura) Pipoly, Christopher Riley Pipoly, and Robert Beryl (Sheila) Pipoly, whom he shared with his former spouse, Pamela Kinnick Pipoly, as well as their dog, Kuhmo. He also leaves four grandchildren, Milana, Emmy, Robert Jr., and Alexis; two sisters, Elaine McNally, and Marilyn (David) Brenner; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Kinnick Funeral Home at 477 N. Meridian Road in Youngstown.
Family and friends may also call from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 7345 Westview Dr., Boardman, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
